AVATAR NAMES BECOMING POPULAR

The new film Avatar has enjoyed great success over here. They said on the radio that many people are now naming their babies after some of the characters in the film. One of the popular ones is Neytiri after the character of the warrior princess. Should make for interesting school registers in years to come! And I thought I had an unusual name! Ha ha

You're back!!! How completely awesome...I have missed you, Naomi!

I haven't seen Avatar as yet, but I have seen plenty of trailers. Baby names will be interesting for awhile!!!

No! No! Don't name children silly things! Heard of one girl today called 'Mystic'. Oh, why??? She's going to be Miss Mystic something or worse, Mrs. What if she marries someone called Smith? It's quite likely, but Mrs Mystic Smith is going to be quite a mouthful.

Oh, the spelling challenges that await these children!

I think the hype of thid movie will be short lived. It may have spectacular computer graphics, but it hasn't got a great story - one hich would make the movie endure.

At the end of the day, it's just a version of the Pocahontas story - but the Disney version is best!

Traditional names are the best - at least we think that in Russia....

Yes, Avatar is a nice movie BUT who will remember it in 13-15 years... and poor teenagers will explain to everybody about her name after blue people in an old movie...

After revolution in Russia 1917 some parents invented names for their babies..

My aunt and uncle have very "strange" names after foreign revolutionists... My cousins still pay for grandparents choice by explanation every time their patronymic name (second name is by father's name).
