FANS CELEBRATE ABBEY ROAD 40TH ANNIVERSARY

Millions of Beatles fans made a pilgrimage to London’s Abbey Road recently to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the famous album. The celebrations brought traffic to a complete standstill as a Beatles tribute band walked along the zebra crossing made famous by the Fab Four and featured in the photo on the front of their album. Meanwhile fans gathered around the crossing singing Beatles songs. The Beatles definitely put Abbey Road on the map and made it part of musical history. The Fab Four recorded some of their best music in the Abbey Road studio nearby. It’s hard to believe it’s been 40 years since the Beatles crossed Abbey Road in London’s St John’s Wood, creating one of the most recognisable and iconic album covers of all time in the process. How time flies!

I remember my Mum playing this again and again and again. She had me in 1962 and she was Beatles-crazy. I recall being amazed that she knew all the lyrics!

Time flies, doesn't it. Sadly, if I'm not mistaken, two of the Fab Four are no longer with us. It's always nice to catch up with ya, Naomi. Have a wonderful day, or evening as the case may be.

I was a baby...in a household where music stopped with Elvis! Mom never could do with the Beatles, so I never heard them until junior high school. So much to take in at that tender age. Hard to believe 4 decades have passed.

I've neve rbeen a huge beatles fan, but after I saw the Cirque Du Soleil show "LOVE", featuring all the Beatles music, I became an instant fan.

I was also born in the sixties Fran but my Mum wasn't a Beatles fan. I learnt to enjoy their music myself as I grew up. I always remember the cartoon series on tv. I always used to watch it. It was really good.

Hi Debby, It's always nice to catch up with you too. Lovely to see you over here again. Yes sadly two of the Fab Four have passed. However their memory and music will live on forever.

My Mum didn't like the Beatles either Sandy. But I grew up to really enjoy their music.

Their music is timeless Rick. All their songs are classics and are as popular today as they have always been.
