10 DOWNING STREET - THE HOME OF THE BRITISH PRIME MINISTER

Many people have asked me if we in Britain have an equivalent of The White House website in the U.S. Well here it is!

Click on the link below to go to the 10 Downing Street website. I'm also adding this to the British links in the left hand column of this blog. Not sure how it compares to The White House Site but I personally think the 10 Downing Street one is a great site!

10 Downing Street is the historic office and home of the British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown. The website is very interesting. Amongst other things, you can read about all the previous Prime Ministers who have lived at No. 10. There are also photo galleries on there, showing the Prime Minister at work. You can even take a virtual tour of No. 10 whilst you are there. Happy surfing everybody!

thank you, Naomi, for posting the link to No.10...I have always wondered what was behind that famous door.

I love the interior colours. No. 10 seems to be warm and cozy; nowhere near what I imagined it to be.

The people behind the door are very worried at the moment. You havent come across a couple of discs have you.
Santa and Ho ho Ho was interesting and something I didnt know. Ho is it a derivative of whore or hooker? The thing is you can shortened many words and they could refer to something else. Where do you stop?

I am going over there to check it out. I wonder if you can take a tour like at the White House? I've been to the White House twice and it's definitely worth the visit. Oh to be a guest.

I've been to the big white house on Pennsylvania Avenue. An interesting point, and something you will not see on the website, the won't say how much money is spent for the grand floral bouquets that adorn every room.

I like the official site for #10. It's easy to navigate which is always helpful.

On a personal note, you have been a great supporter of the Gonzo Blog Carnival Series. We hope to see you at...Villagers go...GONZO!

No Dave unfortunately I haven't come across any discs! I'm not surprised the people at No. 10 are worried. That's a serious blunder.

I agree shortening words can make them have different meanings. Where will it all end! Hope you enjoyed your visit here Dave.

Hope you enjoyed your visit to the Downing Street website Sheila. Unfortunately the only tour you can take is a virutal one. You are so lucky to have visited the White House.

Glad you enjoyed the No. 10 website Kilroy. I'd love to join in your latest carnival. It's been so mad lately I missed the other two I'm afraid. I'll put an advert for the Villager one on my blog.

I had the good fortune to actually visit INSIDE number 10...but MRs Thatcher wasn't in when I was there. I was living in London attending Brunel University, and I interned for an MP. I eneded up meeting the Speaker who arranged for a tour of #10. It was VERY COOL

Wow! I bet that was interesting Rick. I'm sure you enjoyed your tour of No. 10.

You get a great view of no. 10 from the London Eye, and its amazing how big the whole Downing Street thing is - much bigger than its humble frontage would suggest!

I've never been on the London Eye Alastair but I'm sure it's a great experience. I think Downing Street is like a lot of properties, deceivingly small from the outside.
