Gene Kelly’s, “Singin’ in the Rain” is enjoying a mini revival here in England, after breakdancer George Sampson danced his way to victory using a funky version of the song as his backing track on Britain’s Got Talent. Manchester band Mint Royale who remixed the song to a funky beat, stormed to the top of the charts with their version of “Singin’ in the Rain”, knocking Rihanna off the top spot. The hit song has been No. 1 in the U.K. Singles Charts for the past two weeks. I love it and always think of George Sampson dancing whenever I hear it being played! I've been absolutely addicted to that song, ever since I saw George Sampson dancing to it.
Did you know that Volkswagen had an ad (for the new golf, I think) with that song?
Me too Kalafudra. I love that song and always want to get up and dance every time I hear it. I didn't know Volkswagen were using the song. I will look out for that on tv. Hope you enjoyed your visit here.
It's an old ad, I'm pretty sure that you can't find it on TV anymore. But it's on youtube...
