I’m back blogging again after my Italian holiday. Italy was wonderful as always. This was my third visit there. I stayed in the Lake Garda area on this occasion, at a resort called Riva Del Garda. It’s a really good base for touring the surrounding area. I visited Venice, Verona and the Italian Dolomites. My Mum and I took a gondola ride in Venice, which was a novel experience. We also visited St Mark's Square and the Basilica. Verona is also well worth a visit. I particularly enjoyed watching the street performers. They stand like statues, dressed in costumes. There was an Egyptian Mummy, Michelangelo and a woman dressed in Shakespearean costume. Having done some Shakespeare at college, I also enjoyed visiting Juliet’s house and balcony and reading the thousands of love messages that people from all over the world had left on a wall near to the house! The Dolomites are also well worth a visit. The views are spectacular. It was a really good holiday and I enjoyed every minute of it. The weather was also good in Italy, a lot better than in England right now. England has had an exceptional amount of rain this Summer, with the wettest June on record and the “rains” set to continue until the middle of July. It was raining on the way to the airport and raining when we came back home! Despite the rain, it’s still nice to be back home again with a cup of English tea, even if the pasta and ice cream doesn’t taste as good as it did in Italy!
