CREMATORIUM CONTROVERSIAL RECYCLE PLAN

Thameside Council have come up with a controversial plan to go green and do their bit for the environment. The plan is for mourners at Dukinfield Crematorium to be kept warm during the service by the recycled heat generated from their loved ones being cremated! Some people have voiced grave (sorry!!) concerns about the new plan, whilst others think it’s a good idea. Council officials admit it’s a very sensitive issue. However a local minister has given his backing to the plan, saying it’s a lovely way for the dead to provide comfort to the living at a very difficult time. Well that’s one way of looking at it!

Personally, I think that's a great idea. Why waste the extra heat generated by a retort when you can put it to practical use?
Here in America, though, very very few cremations are witnessed by the families, although they do have that right if they wish to exercise it.

hmmm well that's an interesting idea. You Brits are so terribly clever!

It's always humbling to remember that we too are organic matter! I guess we don't want to be fossil fuel too soon, though!

This is a tricky subject, to be sure. It would be something if the heat could be piped anonymously to some other place!

Naomi, you have given me something to think about today.

Hello Everybody,

Thanks for stopping by. This has certainly been a great talking point for a lot of people in England.

Granimore, it is a good idea in theory even if a controversial one.

Yes Rick we do come up with some clever ideas some times don't we!

Sandy that's a very good point, although I agree we don't want to think of ourselves as being fossil fuel anytime soon! I think this idea has given everyone here something to think about!

Yes it does send shivers down the spine Sheila. Still not sure whether I fancy this idea.
