A two part documentary featuring a year in the life of the Prince Phillip (or the Duke of Edinburgh as he is better known) is to be shown on ITV1 as part of a new season line up of programmes. One of the highlights of the programme will feature the Duke of Edinburgh showing veteran broadcaster Sir Trevor McDonald around Sandringham, where the Queen and other members of the Royal family regularly spend their Christmas holidays. Situated in Norfolk, Sandringham has been the private residence of four generations of Royal sovereigns since 1862.
A member of the Greek Royal family, Prince Philip was born in 1921. He’s 86 years old and has been married to The Queen since 1947. The Duke of Edinburgh is only the fifth consort to a reigning Queen in British history and gave up his navy career to support the then Princess Elizabeth when she became Queen. The couple have four children and eight grandchildren. Both the Queen and Prince Philip are great-great grandchildren of Queen Victoria. Like his eldest son Prince Charles, Prince Philip takes a great interest in the environment, using an LPG powered taxi cab around London to attend engagements. Apart from being an active supporter of a wide range of charities, the Duke of Edinburgh has also founded his own Duke of Edinburgh national and international award scheme, to introduce young people to new challenges and experiences. The scheme has proved to be extremely successful both here and abroad. Prince Philip undertakes a number of Royal engagements himself, in addition to accompanying the Queen on all her overseas tours and visits and on some engagements in this country too. Apart from carrying the title of The Duke of Edinburgh, he also carries the titles of The Earl of Merioneth and Baron Greenwich.

So interesting, Naomi. As I read your post, I thought how the Royal Family are reduced to types and assumptions by the public. This should be a very interesting program. I'm glad he cares about the environment. Persons such as Prince Philip can do a lot to shape public interest in such matters. I will keep an eye out for this program. God bless.

Hope we get it. I have always adored him since he told McDonalds's CEO "Aren't you that company that is destroying the Amazon" and turned his back on him LOL. McDonalds takes legal action against the smallest of people but wouldn't dare to take him on.
