WUTHERING HEIGHTS - A CLASSIC FAVOURITE
Wuthering Heights is one of my favourite books. I studied Emily Bronte's classic novel as part of my English Literature 'O' level curriculum. A lot of people obviously agree with me. Emily Bronte’s classic story of thwarted love between Cathy and Heathcliff set on the Yorkshire moors has been named Britain’s favourite love story of all time in a recent poll, beating Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice into second place. William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet came in at No. 3. It's interesting to see that these classics which have been around for so many years are still as popular as ever with 21st century readers.

One of my favorites as well.
I was also thrilled to see "Becoming Jane" about Jane Austin another favorite author.
I always loved Wuthering Heights Jackie. I haven't seen Becoming Jane but I believe it's a really good film.
Good post. I'm glad I never had to vote between Wuthering Heights and Pride and Prejudice. Love them both.

Hi Naomi, I'm peeping in from the AgGC. Let me see what I remember of Wuthering Heights--imagery and emotions.
I would looooove to visit the Yorkshire moors one day. The movie was pretty good too. Still made in black and white. I must have read this book when I was 13 or 14 as it was a school requirement in Australia. I guess they knew its value. In any case, I'm thinking that I should read it again.

Hi Naomi! I've come via the AgGC and see that I need to get busy reading on Wuthering Heights but on Jackie's suggestion, as well!!
I suppose the reading public has a taste these days for drama more than comedy or poetry!
This is a wonderful book that has been made into some wonderful movies.

Wuthering Heights and the moors...I remember seeing this in black and white and loving it.
I read this book years and years ago;you've reminded me it's worth reading again!
