After suffering with a bad bout of flu this week, I was pleased to hear that scientists at Imperial College in London are a step nearer to developing new treatments. After managing to infect a lab mouse with the flu virus for the first time, the team are now able to test new ways of treating colds and flu and also asthma, providing a massive boost to research efforts. Good news for all of us.

Hope you are nearly recovered. I didn't get a flu shot and hope to escape your fate.
Hi, Naomi!
All these are great news of course. But please, take care and get well!
Best wishes,
Svet and Kyle
Thanks for your kind wishes Sheila and Kyle and Svet. I finally got rid of the flu bug and I'm a lot better now. Unfortunately working in an office with people sneezing and coughing over you, it's very difficult not to catch something!
it's very difficult not to catch something! - It's absolutely the same here plus crowds in public transport.
But that's life and we'll survive it, will we not? ;)

Graham and I had the flu bug over Christmas. It took a full six weeks to recover. It was horrible.
No flu shot. Perhaps next year, lol!
Hope you are feeling better, Naomi!
This is wonderful news, thought I can't help thinking the mouse might vote differently!
Seriously, though, we've had a big scare here about the contents of cough medicine for kids and the flu shot. I hope a safe alternative is found.
I hope you're better!
We certainly will Kyle and Svet. Nice to see you both again.
Yes I'm feeling a lot better now thanks Marion. I remember you and Graham having that nasty flu over Christmas. You'll have to make sure you both get a flu jab next year.
Yes I feel sorry for the little mouse too Sandy. We had that cough medicine scare over here too Sandy. Thankfully I'm back to myself again now.
