ADS SEEK HEIRS TO BRITISH THRONE

Advertisements have appeared in newspapers throughout the world this week asking people if they can trace their ancestors back to 1066 and if they had a claim to the British throne! The advertisements are part of a quest by English Heritage to trace historical heirs to the British throne. Genealogists are asking respondents on www.english-heritage.org.uk/hastings to supply documentary proof along with the name of their most likely "gateway ancestor". They claim that if William had not taken the throne in 1066, the course of history could have been very different. Interesting!
