FREE HAIRCUTS AND CLOTHES FOR JOBSEEKERS

The government announced this week that long-term job seekers would be helped to find work by offering them free haircuts, tattoo removal, new suits and smart clothes. I wonder if they’ll be offered the new stain-resistant “wipe and go” Permatech cotton shirt just launched by Asda this week. Sounds like a good idea to me!

Meanwhile the world’s first aerodynamic umbrella which its makers claim can withstand a Force 10 gale without turning inside out was launched this week. The Senz created by a Dutch firm, will be sold for £35. Good idea but that’s a lot of money to pay for a humble brolly! Wonder if it sings and dances as well?

I came over to ask you a question. After reading this post and finding your reference to a "brolly", this was the best place to ask my question!!!

What do you call an old timey British cop? A bobby? Over on PJ's Paper Doll Cut Outs we are introducing our Little Animal Paper Dolls and one is an old timey cop!

Hi Naomi! It looks like my comment didn't make it to you. I was wondering if "bobby" is a term that was used for English cops? I am doing research on my paper doll blog and mentioned you over there!

Yes, the post is perfect and it is now linked over on http://pjscorner7.blogspot.com/2007/03/re-introducing-peppy-little-sheppy.html

Now I know what a truncheon is as well!

That's great Janey. Glad to be of help. Didn't realise your word for a truncheon was a night stick or billy club so I learnt something there!
