GOVERNMENT TAKES MEASURES TO COMBAT UNDERAGE DRINKING

British pubs face heavy fines or closure if they are caught selling alcohol to underage drinkers under new government guidelines announced this week. The tough new measures are being introduced in an effort to stamp out underage youngsters going out and getting drunk. Any pub found selling alcohol to minors more than twice in a three month period will be forced to close. If they plead innocent and take the case to court, they risk closure for three months and a heavy fine.
