HERCEPTIN GRANTED LICENCE

Good news for British women this week, the breast cancer drug Herceptin has been granted a licence, which means it could be available for use on the NHS within a few weeks’ time. Previously treatment with the drug was dependant upon which area of the country women lived in and if sufficient funding was available and how exceptional each individual case was. The news was welcomed by breast cancer sufferers who previously had to fight to be prescribed the drug.
